Review: The Urban Decay Vice Palette

I cannot rave enough about this palette; IT IS JUST SO GOOD! Let’s start with the…
Packaging:
The palette comes in a box that looks like this:

When you open the cardboard box you can then pull out the actual palette:

As you can see it is all purple themed and really pretty; I especially love the UD embellishment. The actual palette is made out of plastic and is extremely sturdy. When you open the palette you can take a look at the remarkable stand alone, full size mirror. This is one of the best things about this palette because you don’t need to use a handheld mirror.
The mirror is also positioned to stop at an angle, which is the perfect because you can sit down and the mirror leans slightly back so that you don’t have to hunch to look at yourself. Props to UD for this! The mirror is also large and of very good quality:

Eyeshadows:
The quality and pigmentation of these eyeshadows, I have to say, are some of the best I have tried. Here are a few pictures of the eyeshadows:

If you like wearing colorful eyeshadows (like me) this palette is for you. Just look at that – the colors are insane! All of the eyeshadows in this palette are creamy in texture and extremely pigmented. There is not one color in this palette that I do not love. Even without a base these shadows work wonderfully.

The eyeshadows are (from left to right): Desperation (greyish taupe brown matte-satin), Muse (dark reddish brown w/golden and multidimensional shimmer), Jagged (matte black base w/gold metallic), Blitz (bright gold metallic), Penny Lane (bronze metallic w/gold glitter), Junkie (dark green-blue w/gold shimmer), Chaos (vibrant royal blue w/very subtle shimmer), Unhinged (electric turquoise blue metallic), Occupy (dark grey-blue metallic), Black Market (dark charcoal black matte-satin), Provocateur (light greyish pink w/lots of multidimensional glitter), Rapture (dark greyish purple w/multidimensional shimmer), Vice (dark eggplant w/subtle red shimmer), Noise (dark reddish-pink metallic w/big gold glitter), Armor (greyish brown metallic w/silver micro-glitter), Nevermind (light taupey-brown shimmer), Echo Beach (light wheat-champagne shimmer), Anonymous (light whitish-pink nude matte), Freebird (light peachy-pink w/silver micro-glitter) and Laced (pinky-taupe matte).
Here are some swatches:

Once again these swatches are with no base and literally me taking one swipe of the eyeshadow and swiping it on my arm. So you can see exactly how well these eyeshadows turn up. Also, I used someone with a different skin tone for the second half of the eyeshadows so you can see how the eyeshadows look on other skin tones as well
Brush:
Last but not least, the brush. I LOVE the double ended brush that comes in this palette. It looks a lot like the brush in the Naked 2 palette, if your familiar with it, but they have slightly improved the bristles. The bristles are now much softer, but still very compact. I especially love the blending side of the brush because it is really easy to get a precise blend. Furthermore, since the bristles are so soft they do not scratch or tug at my eye lid like other brushes. Here is a picture:

All in all, this palette is wonderful and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy eyeshadows on the more colorful side. Here is a look I did with the vice palette yesterday:

Thanks so much for reading again!
