Review: Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Collection

 If you are looking for an amazing eyeliner set for a good value this is it.

 

I bought the kit a little while ago at my local Sephora store for $40 CAD. This is an awesome deal considering that one full size aqua eyes eyeliner is $20 CAD. In this kit you get the following: 4 x 0.025 oz Aqua Eyes in Dark Grey 21L (dark metallic grey), Blue With Green Highlights 12L (metallic teal blue), Champagne 23L (metallic pink champagne), Black Purple 6L (deep purple). 2 x 0.04 oz Aqua Eyes in Mat Black 0L (black), Pearly Brown 2L (golden brown sheen). So really you're only paying for the 2 full size eyeliners and getting 4 medium sized ones for free!

 

Not only is the price good, but the quality of the liners is one of the best I have ever tried. I have always had trouble finding a good eyeliner because I wear contact lenses and eyeliners (especially creamy ones) tend to smudge on to my contacts making it impossible to see clearly. However, these eyeliners are the only ones I have tried, thus far, that are extremely smooth but still manage to stay put and not budge; they are very long lasting, which I love.

Overall, these are just really wonderful eyeliners. I recommend this kit to anyone looking to try a variety of different colored eyeliners and especially to those who wear contact lenses and are having trouble finding decent eyeliners that won't leave them blind haha.

This is so exciting you guys! Urban Decay finally came out with an all matte palette, featuring six Naked neutrals —including four never-before-seen shades. It looks like this:

Fall Trend Makeup Look Featuring Naked Palette 2 and Review

Hello Everyone :)

I decided to do a fall trend makeup look (neutral eyes and berry lips) the other day using the popular Naked Palette 2. I really love my Naked 2 and will be doing a review about it for those of you who are contemplating on getting it. First of all, Naked 2 comes with 12 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadows, one Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush, and one 0.11 oz Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked (pinky neutral). The entire kit costs $60 CAD So it is a really good deal for what you get. Here are a few pictures of the palette:

 

The case for the eyeshadows is really nice. I much prefer the hard case of Naked 2 over the fabric one of the first Naked palette. The mirror is also bigger in the Naked 2 which is a plus. The one thing I don't like about the mirror is how the mirror lies flat when you open it. I would have much preferred a stand alone mirror such as the mirror that comes in the UD Vice Palette.

 

I also really love the brush it comes with. There is one blending side and one flat application side, which is exactly what you need to do a basic neutral eye. The blending side is great because it is sturdy and easy to get a precise blend. The brush is much like the brush in the UD Vice palette, though the Vice palette bristles are a tad bit softer. Here is what the palette looks like when opened:

 

 

 Now for the actual eyeshadows. As you can see, I have used them a lot and that is because they are so wonderful. The eyeshadows from left to right are: Foxy (cream bisque with matte finish), Half Baked (golden-bronze with shimmering finish), Booty Call (shimmering cork), Chopper (copper shimmer with silver microglitter), Tease (creamy pale brown with matte finish), Snake Bite (dark bronze shimmer with metallic base), Suspect (pale golden beige with shimmering finish), Pistol (light gray-brown with shimmering finish), Verve (oyster with shimmering finish), YDK (cool bronze shimmer with metallic base), Busted (deep brown with shimmering finish), Blackout (blackest black with matte finish).

The variety of colors is my favorite thing about this palette. Who knew there were so many neutral shades!? I would have preferred a few more matte shades but UD is known for their shimmering shades and I do love that. If you ask me what my favorite eyeshadows are within this palette I would have to say Tease and Blackout. Tease is an awesome color to use when you are doing a black smokey eye and want to have a gradual blend at the edges of the black. It works AWESOME, especially because it is a matte shade. Blackout is the blackest and creamiest matte black I have tried; it is great! I usually use it for all my black smokey eyes because it is really easy to blend.

Review: Sephora Cinderella Collection - The Moonlit Kiss Lipstick Set by Sephora

I recently bought the Sephora Cinderella Collection Lipsticks and I am really loving them. The packaging is adorable and really sticks to the entire theme of the collection. It looks like this:

Once you take the inside section out of the packaging the lipsticks are embedded in a velvet-like casing, as seen below:

The lipstick tubes are silver in color and are very simple, sturdy, and reflective. I like them a lot! They have a very classy look to them.

The lipsticks themselves are very beautiful. I love each and every color. The first shade is called Moment (pink champagne glitter). It is a very light and shimmering shade. On its own it just looks like you have applied shimmer/glitter on your lips; however, I like to use it over other shades of lipsticks to add just a touch of glitter. The second shade is Pumpkin (light pastel peach). This is a  pretty color that can be worn on its own but I prefer to use under a slightly pinker toned gloss, just because on its own it makes my lips look slightly pale. Thus, a sheer pink gloss adds some color to it. The third shade is Who Is She? (warm rosy mauve). This is an awesome color! It works great on its own because it has the perfect balance of coral and pink; thus, it doesn't make the lips look pale. Love it! The final shade is Lady Tremaine (berry). This is probably my favorite out of all the lipsticks in this kit. I adore this color! In the tube it can look a bit scary because it looks so dark! However, when it is applied it isn't nearly as dark, and is much more of a plum color than it seems. Here is a picture of all four lipsticks in their tubes:

When applied they look like this:

As you can see lightest lipstick isn't as noticeable as the others, and is more of a shimmer. The darkest lipstick isn't nearly as dark as it looks in the tube, and is more of a reddish plum shade. The texture of the lipsticks is really nice and creamy.

My ALL time favorite thing about these lipsticks is how long lasting they are, especially the darkest plum shade. When I use this lipstick in the morning it is still stained on my lips by the end of the day. Awesome =D

I definitely recommend these lipsticks to anyone looking for a nice variety of long lasting lipsticks.

Review: MAC Cosmetics Glamour Daze - Guilty Passions: 4 Brilliantly Warm/and Cool Crushed Metallic Pigments

I am really adoring the MAC Cosmetics holiday collections so far. I recently bought the Guilty Passions: 4 Brilliantly Warm Crushed Metallic Pigments and the Guilty Passions: 4 Brilliantly Cool Crushed Metallic Pigments and I am loving them!

They come in the cutest little box ever! It looks like this:

The Warm Crushed Metallic Pigments come in the shades: Dusty Desire, Femininity, Prettified and Maribu. Pictures below:

These pigments are just beautiful! They have so much dimension and shine to them as you can see in the swatches below:

They are such beautiful colours. For the swatches above all I did was dip my finger into the pigment pot and swipe it once on my skin. I didn't even apply it wet!

I personally like to apply pigments wet; so, I dip my brush into a tiny amount of water and then apply it to my eyes. It is much easier to apply this way and you can get a very sharp and defined  pigment. You can also use this method to turn the pigment into a eyeliner. For this, I seperate a little bit of pigment onto the plastic cap and use a wet angle brush to pick up the pigment. I then apply it like a regular eyeliner, and it works great! That being said, you can still apply these MAC pigments dry because they are really well made.

The Cool Crushed Metallic Pigments come in the shades: I've Got a Crush on You, Spruced, Moss Garden and She's Got Class. Here are a few pictures:

Overall, I really recommend these MAC crushed pigments to everyone, especially those people who are just learning to use pigments because they are so versatile and easy to use.
