Vice Palette by Urban Decay

The Vice Palette is one of the newest palettes by UD and I am extremely excited to be doing a post about it. At times I am hesitant to buy new UD palettes because they always have atleast a few eyeshadows from an old palette included in their new palette; however, the vice palette has ALL brand new, never before seen by UD eyeshadows! This is one of the main reasons I am so excited about this product, because I know I will not have any of these eyeshadows in my collection already. The eyeshadows in this palette also include a few matte shades; UD tends to do a lot of shimmery and glittery eyeshadows, which I do love, but it is nice to see them doing a few matte shades and working with different textures in this collection.

Another exciting thing about this palette is how there are many vibrant and colorful shades. I have the UD Naked 2 palette and even though it is one of my most adored paletts, the shadows are all on the neutral side, so the Vice palette is awesome for those who enjoy using more colorful eyeshadows. However, it does include a few neutral shades (last row) which are extremely useful for blending out the more colorful eyeshadows within this palette.

I personally really love UD eyeshadows because they have such a creamy texture and are always extremely pigmented; I am sure that the eyeshadows that come in the Vice palette will be no different.

Another great thing about this palette is the full size, good quality mirror it comes with and its ability to stay up on its own. This is great if you want to do your makeup looking straight ahead at yourself, because you just need to put the palette down on a table and there is no need to hold it up. For example, the UD Naked 1 has a mirror but if you dont hold it up it lays flat on the table. I found this to be pretty useless because you loose a hand holding the mirror that you could be using to do your makeup. Thus, the Vice palette seems to have improved on this point. Vice also comes with a double ended brush that is very similiar to the brush that comes with the Naked 2 palette; it is an awesome brush to use when doing your makeup. I especially love the blending side of the brush because the bristles are very compact, making it easy to get a very precise blend.

The palette is priced at $68.00 CAD and it comes with 20 x 0.03 oz eyeshadows; thus, it comes down to about $3.40 per eyeshadow. Wonderful! The shadows are: Desperation (greyish taupe brown matte-satin), Muse (dark reddish brown w/golden and multidimensional shimmer), Jagged (matte black base w/gold metallic), Blitz (bright gold metallic), Penny Lane (bronze metallic w/gold glitter), Junkie (dark green-blue w/gold shimmer), Chaos (vibrant royal blue w/very subtle shimmer), Unhinged (electric turquoise blue metallic), Occupy (dark grey-blue metallic), Black Market (dark charcoal black matte-satin), Provocateur (light greyish pink w/lots of multidimensional glitter), Rapture (dark greyish purple w/multidimensional shimmer), Vice (dark eggplant w/subtle red shimmer), Noise (dark reddish-pink metallic w/big gold glitter), Armor (greyish brown metallic w/silver micro-glitter), Nevermind (light taupey-brown shimmer), Echo Beach (light wheat-champagne shimmer), Anonymous (light whitish-pink nude matte), Freebird (light peachy-pink w/silver micro-glitter) and Laced (pinky-taupe matte).

Here is a picture of the Vice palette:

The UD website says the following:

Twenty never-before-seen shades in one insanely gorgeous palette! Shadow junkies, prepare to get addicted.

If eyeshadow is your vice, the Vice Palette is your fix. Loaded with 20 never-before-seen shades you won’t find anywhere else, this insanely gorgeous palette is ALL about eyeshadow. With a mix of mattes, satins, shimmers, neutrals and brights, the range of shades is unreal—from breathtaking gold to shimmery green to jet-black satin. Plus, each Eyeshadow features our brand new Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

All that eye candy comes in a sleek purple soft-touch case topped with a jeweled UD icon. With the push of a button, the slow-opening lid dramatically reveals all 20 shades, plus a large mirror and a double-ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush. Shadow junkies, prepare to get addicted.

I will do a full review and swatches when I get this in the mail sometime next week!

Thanks for reading!

Sephora's Cinderella Collection...

I was immediately excited when I saw the preview, for the Sephora Cinderella Collection, about a month ago. Disney and Makeup? What an awesome combination! I believe the collection came out about a week ago at my local Sephora store in Canada and I am so excited!

The preview/teaser link for the collection on Sephora's Youtube Channel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PBDNtz0KPc

Here is a picture of the entire collection:

It includes...

The Storylook Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is priced at $66.00 CAD; an awesome deal considering it includes 20 x 0.035 oz eyeshadows. This means it comes down to approximately $3.00 an eyeshadow. The shadows are: Maiden (glittery magenta), All Aglow (shimmering tan), Destined (light blue pearl), Cinderelly (sea foam green matte), Pumpkin Coach (cream gold), Ball Gown (pearl white pearl), Kill Joy (shimmering taupe), Fairy Godmother (periwinkle), Glass Slipper (light blue shimmer), Royal (matte bright blue), Gus Gus (gold shimmer), Charming (nude pearl), Chateau (brown shimmer), Palace (rose gold shimmer), Drizella (medium brown golden shimmer), Cinders (black with gold glitter), Jaq (mauve matte gold shimmer), Midnight (midnight blue with light blue glitter), A Wish (cream pearl), and Rococo (plum w/multi glitter).

Here is what the Sephora website has to say about it:

What it is:
A 20-piece eye shadow palette with shades customized to match the original colors from the fabled movie.

What it does:
Begin a journey with this dazzling collection of fairy tale-inspired shadows. Original artwork created by Disney portrays Cinderella’s magical moment with elaborate silver and gold detailing. Inside, a luxurious velveteen tray holds a variety of shimmering shades, each customized to match the original pantones from the movie. The silky smooth formulas glide on effortlessly, providing a rich coat of color that blends and layers to create a stunning eye.

I have ordered this palette online and should be receiving it sometime next week; so you can expect a full review, swatches, and pictures soon!

Next up...
The Midnight Hour Eyeshadow Palette

I don't feel like this palette will be my favorite just because the colors are very dull and I am more of a bright and colorful eyeshadow wearer; that being said, the packaging for this palette is beautiful! It is priced at $36.00 CAD, which isn't bad for 4 x 0.049 oz eyeshadows; however, the storylook palette still comes out to a much better deal. The shades are: Gray (grey pearl), White (pearl shimmer), Champagne (champagne nude), and Sparkles (charcoal shimmer glitter).

Sephora says:

What it is:
A four-piece eye shadow palette with enchanting, smoky shades.

What it does:
Reenact the drama and flash these whimsical shadows as the clock strikes twelve. Original artwork created by Disney brings the magic to life with an elegant screen print of the legendary countdown. Once opened, you’ll be swept away by the palette’s enchanting, smoky shades. The silky smooth formulas glide on effortlessly, providing a rich coat of color that blends and layers to create a stunning eye that lasts beyond the midnight hour.

At the moment, I don't think I will be getting this palette just because, like I mentioned, the colors don't really suit me very well.

Next...
The Moonlit Kiss Lipstick Set
Once again, the packaging for this is stunning. These lipsticks are $30.00 CAD for 4 x 0.13 oz, which comes to about $7.50 a lipstick. Really good deal! The shades are: Lady Tremaine (berry), Pumpkin (light pastel peach, Who Is She? (warm rosy mauve), and Moment (pink champagne glitter).

Sephora says:

What it is:
A four-piece collection of luxuriously creamy, satin-finish lipsticks.

What it does:
Find your Prince Charming and seal the love with a perfectly pretty pout. This set of lavish lip formulas features shades that mirror the dresses Cinderella wore in the film, adorning your lovely lips with hues of berry, peach, warm rose, and champagne.
A four-piece collection of luxuriously creamy, satin-finish lipsticks.

I haven't ordered these lipsticks as of yet, but will be getting them soon!

Up Next...
The A Brush with Fate Nail Polish Set

These polishes are priced at $29.00 CAD and include 6 x 1.8 oz. The polishes are: So Totally Enchanted (glittery silver), Step Off, Sister! (glittery purple), Blue My Curfew (glittery royal blue), Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Pink! (glittery pink), Self-Maid Millionaire (glittery gold), and Rags to Rhinestones (glittery bronze). All really beautiful glittery colors!

Sephora says:

What it is:
A six-piece set of miniature nail lacquers to make your manicure simply spellbinding.

What it does:
Walk into a fantasy with this set of polishes that promise to enchant your tips with sparkles, shimmers, and whimsical hues. Mix and match shades to create the spell of your choice and turn any situation into an occasion.

I really love the colors they came up with (very princess like). I will be getting these polishes in store as soon as possible :)

The So This Is Love Perfume/ So This Is Love...Swarovski Edition

Sephora collaborating with Swarovski? What a wonderful idea! Let's start with the regular So This is Love Perfume. It is $70.00 CAD for the 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray. The price is - well like any other perfume - not cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. The scent has notes of: Fresh Aldehydes, Plumeria, Dewy Hyacinth, Tuberose, Sheer Jasmine, Solar Accord, Musks, Plum, and Creamy Woods.

Here is what Sephora has to say about it:

Become spellbound by the mesmerizing scent of So This is Love and leave a lasting impression. At first breath, fresh aldehydes shine like glass as they dance with warm plumeria and dewy hyacinth to create a top that is delicate and youthful, yet vibrantly dazzling. A magical bouquet of elegant tuberose, sheer jasmine, and exotic tiare flower crafts a royal, shimmering heart— the perfect fit for the belle of the ball. A background of soft, supple musk accord wraps you in the arms of Prince Charming. Sensual peach skin and velvety woods shimmer with luscious texture for a sensation that lasts long after the stroke of midnight.

I quite enjoy the smell of this perfume and the bottle is very delicate; but, I am undecided about whether I will get it or not, If I do I will do a review on it.

Now, the Swarovski Edition; the price is $210.00 CAD, which is yeahh not going to lie, ALOT. However, I see this perfume as more than just a perfume it is more of a collector's piece. The only difference between this bottle and the regular So This Is Love perfume is the Swarovski Crystal adornments. Sephora describes it in the following way: Adorned with twinkling crystals, this Swarovski-edition bottle sparkles like a glass slipper in the moonlight.

Sounds beautiful; however, I probably won't be getting this anytime soon solely because of the price point. Please also note that the Swarovski edition is currently not in stock on the Canadian Sephora website, but you can sign up for them to email you when it is in stock if you are interested in getting it.

Lastly in the Cinderella Collection...
The Compact Mirror

This mirror is $24.00 CAD and it is beautifully decorated with the infamous Cinderella clock design. It is the perfect mirror to carry around in your purse

Sephora says...

What it is:
A purse-friendly mirror designed after the iconic clock that signals the end to Cinderella’s enchanting spell.

What it does:
Touch-up your look with style and grace with this mirror designed after the iconic clock from the film. This elegant compact, adorned with a gold overlay, is the perfect addition to any princess’ collection.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with what Disney and Sephora have come out with for their Cinderella Collection. I am especially appreciative of the effort, quality, and detail that was put into the casing and packaging of all the products. I hear that Disney and Sephora will be doing further collaborations and I really hope this is true, because they have already done such a wonderful job on this collection.

Thanks for reading and have a princessfull day!
